â€¢ Buyers are more emotional during the holidays, so they are more likely to pay your asking price.
â€¢ You can sell for more money during the holidays and then schedule the closing for some time in January.
â€¢ Buyers have more time to look at houses during the holidays than during the typical work week.
â€¢ January is traditionally a time when employees start new jobs. Most of these people cannot wait until spring to buy their new home, so they will buy from the houses on the market when they are looking.
â€¢ The supply of listings will increase dramatically in January, which could mean less demand for your house. Less demand could mean less money in your pocket.
