Burlington County is home to New Jersey’s best-kept secret, a small river town named Delanco Township. It is tucked-away along the Delaware River at the New Jersey border in extreme southeastern Pennsylvania. With a population of about 4,546 people, Delanco Township is considered a large city, offering small-town living rich with history.

Delanco Township is surrounded by water, almost an island. Residents enjoy lots of water activities such as boating, fishing, kayaking, etc. You may have heard of Delanco Township in 2013. This small river town rarely makes the news, but an 11-alarm fire destroying the 300,000-square-foot Dietz & Watson warehouse brought attention to Delanco, New Jersey. Adding to its unique charm, Delanco is a “dry” township, meaning no alcohol sales are allowed.

Delanco Township offers two schools serving students in kindergarten through eighth grade. Students in ninth through twelfth grade, attend Riverside High School in Riverside Township. All students from Delanco Township and Burlington County are eligible to attend the Burlington County Institute of Technology. This countywide public school district offers vocational and technical education at the high school and post-secondary level at campuses in Medford and Westampton Township.

The median home cost in Delanco Township is $80,400. Home appreciation rose 2.00 percent last year.
